Will Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo make my kid violent?
No way! In fact, martial arts makes kids calmer and more respectful than ever. Martial arts always has been about peace, and it always will be.
Does my child face a risk for injury with Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo?
Our program is extremely safe. We have measures upon measures in place to ensure that your child will stay safe, and have a great time. From stretching to warmups to very close supervision – we’ve got your child covered. Injuries do happen sometimes – but they’re quite rare.
My child isn't athletic. Can they still participate in Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo if they're not athletic?

Absolutely. Martial Arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible and strong. Kids who don’t naturally have these qualities develop them. Kids who do have these qualities grow them even more.

Are these Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo classes fun?
Yes! After all, these are children we’re dealing with here. And kids love their fun. We do a variety of games and activities that have kids howling with laughter, and constantly smiling. We work hard here – but we play just as hard.
Will Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo improve my child's confidence?
Yes! Martial Arts is a powerful source of confidence for kids. They practice hard and learn techniques in order to advance through the ranks. And as they advance, they fill with pride. After all, they’re the ones doing all the work – so they feel all of the accomplishment whenever they learn a new move… achieve a new belt… or get praise from their fellow students and instructors.
Is Martial Arts, Karate, Taekwondo for boys only? Or can girls participate as well?
Our martial arts classes have been, and always will be, for boys AND girls! Every class has a good blend of the two as well. In fact, girls often get the hang of it sooner than boys as they’re naturally more flexible.

What can I expect to do in your Boot Camp class?
Every workout is always something new and different… so no repeat or routine training days here! We like to change up your workout, which prevents boredom and maximizes your workout goals and results. You can expect “multitasking” for your muscles. Stretching, running, obstacle courses, circuit training, jumping jacks, push ups, jump roping, sit-ups, abdominal work, core training and agility drills. Basically, just a lot of good old sweat, which is a great way to detox your body and mind!
What kind of people go to Boot Camp classes?

People just like you! Our boot camp classes is designed for all fitness levels – all different shapes, sizes and ages. You do not have to be an athlete or physically fit to start. We establish a baseline for you, set achievable goals and monitor your progress. We have a wide range of participants – from those who have never worked out to those who are marathon runners. Everyone has a challenging personalized training program with individual goals and is pushed at their own pace and potential.

Can anyone join Boot Camp?
Participants that join should be healthy adults. Even if you haven’t exercised for a while, Fitness Boot Camp classes are designed to allow any fitness level to achieve success. Instructors will show different levels of most exercises (beginning, intermediate, and advanced) and participants choose which best suits their fitness level. Participants must be 16 years of age or older.
What should I bring to class?
Bring a water bottle, towel, a smile and a positive attitude. Be sure to dress comfortably – workout pants, t-shirt/tank and athletic shoes.
What kind of results can I expect?
Every person is different, so it really depends on you and your commitment to attending classes regularly and achieving your goals. Generally speaking, you will experience a range of health and fitness benefits such as weight loss, decrease in clothes size, reduction in body fat, increase in strength, fitness and confidence, team building and camaraderie with fellow classmates, perseverance of physical and mental challenges and realization of your goals.
How soon will I see results?
Everyone is different with different types of body frames and constitutions. Some can see improvements in performance in as little time as 1 week. Many see visual improvements in 3 weeks, depending on your effort level and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle outside of classes. It is very common to see people lose weight and decrease in size when consistently attending boot camp.

We will conduct assessments and fitness tests to gauge fitness improvements. These tests will be recorded to show you how and where you’ve improved, as well as areas to work on to maximize individual results.

What other benefits does boot camp provide besides an intense workout?
You will enjoy the combination of personal attention and social interaction from our boot camp classes. People who exercise regularly are also happier, healthier and live longer. Exercise helps prevent heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, arthritis and cancer. Exercise has also been proven to reduce stress, anxiety and depression and increase energy and stamina. So many good things!
Will I be sore?
Most people feel some soreness after the first few days. It typically goes away after that, but the trick is to exercise on a regular basis, which helps to prevent soreness.
What if I have a specific injury (i.e. bad knees or back) or can't perform a certain exercise?
We will provide modified workouts that are personalized for you as an alternative to strengthen your body and still give you the most intense workout possible.
Will you yell at us?

Yes, there will be yelling involved, but only in a healthy, motivating way. We don’t abuse, harass or degrade anyone… ever. We provide positive reinforcement, encouragement, some good jokes and lots of fun.

Can martial arts cause injury?
Every form of physical exercise, from running to walking to martial arts, comes with a risk for injury. However, our program is run by trained experts who place a tremendous focus on injury prevention. Because martial arts makes you more balanced, limber & flexible – it generally leads to LESS injury in people’s lives. Not the other way around!
What level of fitness is required for Martial Arts?

People come to us of all fitness levels. We get natural-born athletes, and we get people who have a harder time with athletic endeavors. However, everyone gets the same focus and attention. If you’re not in great shape, don’t worry. Go at your own pace, and we’ll do everything we can to help you learn each and every technique. Soon enough, your physical fitness will improve, and you’ll be in better shape than ever!

I've heard Martial Arts is violent. Is this true?

Absolutely not! Martial Arts is about peace, balance & harmony. It’s about becoming in touch with your body and all of life. It’s about happiness and fulfillment. The self-defense techniques you learn help you become flexible and strong. They help you become confident and proud. The guiding principles of Martial Arts help you diffuse situations before violence becomes a part of them. However, if a hostile situation does ever come about, you’ll have the tools you need to keep you and your loved ones safe.
